Why Eleventh Mountain?

My parents encouraged my sisters and me to become independent. They even allowed us to climb Eleventh Mountain, an extension of our back pasture.
  • starting up the mountain was scary
  • the middle portion was really hard
  • reaching the top was a solid victory
I climbed it often enough to make it a tradition - sometimes with friends - often alone.

  • A moss-covered rock on the summit became my special place.
  • a crackling fire brought warmth and esthetic sounds
  • the tin cup of hot cocoa tasted soooo... good
  • morphing cumulus clouds tickled my imagination

Given uninterrupted time to think, Eleventh Mountain became my friendly place.
  • I learned being alone with my thoughts was okay
  • stereotypical thinking gave way to imagining
  • fear of criticism by others disappeared
  • courage to explore new places fueled my passion

MOUNTAIN TOPS WILL DO THAT FOR YOU!

My parents initiated freedom to be independent. Mr. Jordan encouraged me to write. (but that's another story) Eleventh mountain gave me the peace to be myself.

So here we are now...
  • approaching the peak of a teaching career too enjoyable to be called a job.
  • enthused as I climb a new mountain of building an Internet business
  • enjoying the view of sending ideas into the electronic universe
